Frequently Asked Questions...
What type of Church is Christ the King?
|
Christ the King Lutheran Church is a member of the Lutheran
Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS). The LCMS is a
mission-oriented, Bible-based, confessional Christian
denomination headquartered in St. Louis, Mo.
|
What does the LCMS believe?
|
Sola Gratia (Grace Alone)... Sola
Fide (Faith Alone)... Sola Scriptura
(Scripture Alone)...
Grace Alone...
God loves the people of the world, even though they are
sinful, rebel against Him and do not deserve His love. He
sent Jesus, His Son, to love the unlovable and save the
ungodly.
Faith Alone...
By His suffering and death as the substitute for all people
of all time, Jesus purchased and won forgiveness and eternal
life for them. Those who hear this Good News and believe it
have the eternal life that it offers. God creates faith in
Christ and gives people forgiveness through Him.
Scripture Alone...
The Bible is God's inerrant and infallible Word, in which
He reveals His Law and His Gospel of salvation in Jesus
Christ. It is the sole rule and norm for Christian doctrine.

What is a typical Sunday like at your church?
|
Sunday School and Bible Study - At 9:00
am, we offer Sunday School (from September through
May) for children, and a Bible Study for adults. Bible Study
continues throughout the year, and it is open for all who
would like to attend. Active conversation is encouraged.
Worship Service - At 10:30 am,
we hold a "traditional" Worship Service, using the Lutheran
Service Book (hymnal). We also use a projection system to
enhance our worship service and better accommodate our
visitors, who may not be familiar with the Liturgy of our
Service.
Fellowship - Following the Worship Service
we invite all to join us in our Fellowship Hall for coffee and
snacks. This is a great opportunity to get to know each other
and share in conversation and fellowship.
|
What should I wear to Service?
|
We maintain a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere at Christ
the King, and casual clothing is acceptable. We do not have a
defined dress code, however we do request that our guests
avoid clothing that could be considered offensive. Most of our
congregation wears business-casual attire. All are welcome.
|
Where do I park my car? Where should I enter the building?
|
There is a parking lot adjacent to Christ the King, with
entry from East Watts Street, between our building and the
Medical Center Enterprise. We share this parking lot with the
Hospital during the week, however all spaces are reserved for
Christ the King Lutheran Church on Sundays.
The two glass doors that face the parking lot are our
primary entrance for Sunday worship and mid-week bible
studies. If you are visiting our Pastor during his weekly
office hours, please use the glass doors next to the big white
cross that faces East Watts Street.
